No one likes an attorney who prioritizes billing over performance. We frequently hear horror stories of local attorneys charging $500 to $750 an hour with no end in sight and no clear path to resolution.
We offer flat fees whenever we can accurately predict the workload required for a task. This provides you with transparency and the ability to plan your finances accordingly. What we cannot predict, however, is the conduct of the opposing party or their counsel. If the other side refuses to be reasonable, an evidentiary hearing becomes necessary. Whether that hearing is brief or extraordinarily long is impossible to forecast; therefore, preparation and the hearing itself are billed at an hourly rate.
What we can promise is that any delays or behaviors that prolong your case will never come from us. We are committed to doing everything in our power to help you control costs while fighting for a fair result.

Family law fees are held in a trust account until they are earned. At the conclusion of your case, any remaining funds held in trust will be returned to you.
At the start of the process, you should expect an initial bill for the flat fees required to initiate the proceeding, followed by a $5,000 retainer to cover any necessary hourly billing. Ideally, your case will resolve without the need for hourly work, allowing that retainer to be returned in full; however, we cannot predict the opposing party's actions at the outset of your case.
